Father Brian Carpenter, S.T.D., was ordained a priest in 2009. He served in parishes in the Rochester, NY diocese from 2009-2015. From 2015-2018 he served on both the academic and formation faculty at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, MD. He then began doctoral studies at the University of St. Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary in 2018. In 2020 he returned to St. Mary’s Seminary & University serving as an assistant professor of systematic theology as well as a mentor and spiritual director to seminarians. In 2022 he was assigned to St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend, Indiana. In 2024 he was assigned to St. Stanislaus Kostka.
Prior to entering seminary, Fr. Brian worked full-time at a soup kitchen in Brooklyn, NY. This experience led him to want to do more work on behalf of the poor in the US and the developing world. As an outreach priest for Cross Catholic, he is able to put his passion for the poor into action.
