Religious Education Classes for Grades Pre-K thru 12th Grade. Classes are held on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Our school year will begin September 10, 2023 and continues thru April 28, 2024. Open enrollment begins in the summer. If your child was not baptized at St. Stan's please provide their baptismal certificate (this can be obtained by calling the parish of baptism).
Our teachers are dedicated volunteers who strive to teach our children to love, serve, and obey God. (All our teachers have completed safe environment training) We teach the Catholic Church doctrine, the Sacraments, and the Bible. God should be first in our lives. Of course, we also know that parents are the primary teachers to their children. We stress that all parents should lead by example by; praying at home together with your children, coming to Mass every week and being part of the parish community. We are striving to become Saints!
Formal preparation for First Communion is a two-year process, usually culminating in the reception of the Sacrament in May of their second school year.
This year, we will have our First Holy Communion Mass on May 5, 2024 at 10:00pm.
The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the initiation into the Catholic Church, building on what was begun at Baptism and nourished in the Holy Eucharist. At Confirmation, each candidate will renew those baptismal promises. Confirmation "confirms", strengthens, and perfects baptismal grace. The laying on of hands is recognized as the origin of the sacrament and as a continuation of the grace imparted at Pentecost. Confirmation imprints an indelible character on the Christian's soul.
Candidates are to look outside of themselves and participate in many different types of service. This would include service at home, in the school and town and at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish donating their time to perform community service.
More information to come. Stay tuned.
If you are 18 years or older and have not received one or any of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation), we invite you to consider enrolling in OCIA. This process perpares you, through the work of God's grace, to receive the Sacraments of Initiation and come into full communion with the Catholic Church.
Before Jesus left this world to return to Heaven, he established the Church as a way to continue to be with his people. "Behold, I am with you always, even until the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20). OCIA gives you a chance to ask questions about things like: What is the purpose of life? How can I learn to pray? What steps do I need to take to become Catholic? Why does the Church teach certain things?
